Our Vision

To make T & T Wheelchair Transportation Accessible on Land, River and the Sea

Our History

The genesis of the company began somewhat innocuously. The founder of the company’s brother Egbert Gilbert was a wheelchair user with very limited mobility. Whenever he had to be transported either to church, visits to the doctor or family gatherings the Founder and his wife had to use two vehicles. Ebgert’s wheelchair would have to be placed in the trunk of the vehicle and his supporting pillows and other items would be placed in the backseat. As a result of this the founder and his wife would both have to travel separately to these events.

This caused the founder of the company to solicit help from his cousins in England to source a vehicle that would be able to comfortably transport all three persons without the hassle. A vehicle was imported and now Egbert could be transported safely, comfortably, and conveniently. At these events persons were usually quite taken aback by the vehicle and the mechanisms contained therein.

This spurned them to enquire about its usage and the availability of the resource. The founder began doing small jobs transporting other persons who were wheelchair users and the business grew organically from there. With the passage of time more services were added based on demands and the business morphed. The Founder then hired a team and he became a certified tour guide as wheelchair users wanted to do tours and other activities beyond the scope of transportation.

The Founder’s brother Egbert Gilbert died on the 23rd May 2021 and on his passing more time and dedication was poured into the business. It became apparent that the services provided by the company were greatly needed. This culminated in the development of a wheelchair specifically designed for wheelchair users on more challenging terrain so that they would have the benefit of certain outdoor experiences. This new innovation is called the “Eggie”.
